A Public Summary
I know my public entries have been getting few and far between (and will probably become more so as my job picks up steam), so just in case anyone who happens to not be on my friends list cares, a summary of how life is going right now:
-I got my master's degree in museum studies in December.
-I'm in charge of a small historic site in VA. (and job = health insurance, which is much happy!)
-The organization that runs my current historic site is acquiring another small historic site nearby, and will be placing me in charge of that site as well.
-I AM MOVING TO VA. This is shocking to any of you who know me, but is necessary, because driving from DC all the way out to my historic site is driving me mad and will probably cause my poor car to die a quick death.
-So in August, I am moving into an AWESOME condo as far out as I can get and still be metro accessible. This condo is pretty much EVERYTHING I'm looking for in a place to live (without it being in DC *pouts*)--wood floors in the living/dining room, my own washer/dryer, a small balcony, a new kitchen, A REAL BEDROOM WITH A DOOR, a gym in the building, and a reserved parking spot in the garage. All walking distance to a metro station, and about $100 less than all the other one bedroom units I was seeing available for rent in that building! :-)
-The cats are still batshit crazy, but incredibly affectionate and wonderful.
So all in all, things are probably the best they've ever been. I have a great job in my field, making enough money to support myself, I have great friends and wonderful cats, and will soon have a place to live in which I can settle down for a couple of years.
