Whale Ho

Friday was just a dark, wet day.  What a lousy day to head to work.  Dad offered me a ride but he was going to drop me off way too early so, despite my fear of walking in the rain, I headed to work on my own.  Other than a couple of speeding morning cars, I was pretty good.  It was just me and Marlie for the fun group that day.  Apparently it was also the last Friday that the book store was going to be open until 1.  Starting this Friday on, we'll be open until 4.  You know it's getting closer to back to school time.  Web orders are such a pain in the butt and so is working with certain peeps who just want to be judgmental of other races.

Fun note: Racelle and Maria's boxes are all packed and piled in the pick up room.

After work, I headed home and did the whole choring thing.  I may have taken a nap, I'm not sure.

Yesterday, dad and I hung out.  It also turns out that dad shouldn't ever be left alone with me because I'm expensive.  He only says that b/c I can convince once in a blue moon to take up certain deals.  He spent over $40 in Ikea but there was a bunch of stuff so it's not all bad.  We checked out Modell's and Jo-ann's in Milford. Personally I was looking for sneakers and a punching bag.  We ate a late lunch at IHOP.  I had funnel cake for the first time.  Very good; it tastes like French Toast without the cinnamon.  After that we headed to Ikea to see if we can add on the Gorm we have in my room.  I ended up with two more wire baskets, two book ends, and two hooks.  I'll eventually organize that shelf.  We also bought a drying rack, some thingy that creates more foam in coffee, and egg slicer, a clock, some dish towels and colored dry erase markers.  Good times.

Lola had also stopped by yesterday.  She had movers bring in her old queen bed to be placed in my room.  Why?  Because last week she bought some new bed at the Trumbull Mall; it was Serta sleep number.  Anyhoo, she said that she'd just give me her bed because she knows how much I've wanted a queen bed.  Albeit that part about wanting a queen bed is true (she got the info from mom), I really didn't want her's because well, as childish as it is, I didn't want to give her another reason for us to owe her.  At least dad and I weren't home when they moved it in.  Dad and I had moved my old bed out of my room, which was a pain in itself.  Lola had given me all the bed sheets that the bed came with, stains and all.  It is the stiffest thing that I have ever slept on, no wonder she complained of back problems.

Lola apparently returned today when dad dropped Kuya and me off at the mall.  She said that she needed to give me her blanket.  Yeah, that's the reason why she returned.  I found out that Popye will be coming to visit for about a day because he's filming a scene here in the states.  We're most likely going to house him and Lola knows that.  Mom said that I should be grateful that Lola gave me a bed.  I had to walk out of the room and then return in order to calm myself down.  I was about to say thanks until mom told me that Lola gave me the bed b/c she didn't want Popye sleeping on such a low quality bed.  Lola said that Popye is most likely going to sleep in my room and that my previous bed was not appropriate for a man of his stature so she willingly gave me her old bed.

How thoughtful.

I haven't said thank-you yet.

I spent quite a bit.  I tend to do that when I have a lot on my mind.  I overdo things.  I bought another work shirt, a present for Alyssa's birthday (never too early...or late), two Asian DVDs from that kiosk (I swear I'm their best customer), and hand soap for home.  We watched one of the movies already.  I bought Kuya Death Note.  Being live action, it was all right to think the guys were hot because they exist.  :P  Other than the subtitles flickering on and off, it is a freaking awesome movie.  No wonder the manga and anime are so popular.  Messed up plot but coolio nonetheless.  We also watched Norbit because it came in from Netflix.

I may be seeing Stephy and Tarra tomorrow after work for a bit.  Their laptops are being nuisances so they're going to SHU to get them checked out and for possible hanging out.

Mom is doing better.  She keeps wanting to scratch the place that the incision was made at which causes dad and me to keep a closer eye on her.

Also, I may be cashing in that Lake Compounce ticket that Stephy gave me this Friday is the weather holds up.

Now, I'm going to head to bed because tomorrow is another day of working as a Follett employee and then returning as a housewife.  Hot diggity.

Loving some Canadian bacon only highlights that stubble.
