in april i had to go to the university health center several times for sickness and i'd get upset when i talked to the doctors, and at the end of the month i started on ortho-tricyclin. in may i had a lot of stress at the end of the semester about grades and money and got upset when i tried to talk about it. at the end of the month, i had coffee with a friend and that night i felt like i was so sleepy i was going to pass out (odd for someone who usually lays in bed an hour or more before going to sleep), i layed down and got the chills and started shaking, then i got a horrible headache and felt like i had to vomit. the next few days i couldn't even stand up i was so sick so i went home and had another episode where i felt like i couldn't breathe, the next day the doc said it was generalized anxiety disorder and i was having panic attacks. the past two months have been pretty bad, i couldn't concentrate when people were talking to me, i'd get sick after one drink of alcohol, i was tired but couldn't sleep. then i started having this nervous feeling in my chest that really freaked me out and the doctor prescribed zoloft for me. i took 25mg at night and the next day was kind of tired but felt spaced out as usual. the next two days i had a panic attack and was so nauseas i couldn't get up from the couch and i had to go home to wichita again. i tried not taking it but the next day i thought i was going insane, and the doctor said take 1/2 the pill. (i am only a little over a hundred lbs you know). the side effects were horrible they are listed below and i can say i've had almost all of them and they were all really bad at some point but i always feel horrid in the morning or after a nap
Some common side effects of Zoloft include indigestion, sweating, feeling agitated, decreased appetite, tremor, sexual side affects, dry mouth, insomnia, diarrhea, feeling unusually sleepy or tired, nausea, yawn, headaches, increased anxiety, nervousness, muscle spasms, dizzy spells, increased appetite, somnolence (drowsiness), fatigue, vomiting, palpitations, chest pain, vision abnormalities,
"In clinical studies with Zoloft, few patients were bothered enough by side effects to stop taking their medicine. Tell your doctor about any side effects you may be experiencing. Your doctor may be able to adjust your treatment plan to help you feel better."
that is a bunch of shit, i felt horrible from the side effects and found out if you have panic attacks that you are only supposed to start out with half of the prescribed dose because you'll freak out, and i did. i still don't know if its going to work but it takes two weeks of hell to find out, i think i may have to get something else for the insomnia.
"Zoloft (Setraline)depression. It may also be used to panic disorder, social phobia, obesity, or obsessive-compulsive disorder ( OCD ). SSRIs work by preventing neurons (nerve cells) from pulling in the serotonin that is floating in the space between neurons. This allows more serotonin to build up and improves communication between the neurons."
the only relatively good news is that the side effects are not as dangerous or permanent as other drugs that can screw up you heart and they are somewhat easier to withdrawl from then other drugs, but these can hurt you liver too.
