it all comes down to Boomer.
BSG Finale: for me it always came down to Boomer. for me her end somehow triggered my whole disillusionment with the show. from the moment at the end of the Mini when she meets up in the hallway with Chief - she was my favorite character and they - my favorite pairing. they were real together. not forced like Kara/Lee, Dee/Billy or any other hailed paring: they were the ones that felt most real. and Boomer as a central character in season 1. her struggles, her terror at what she was, her downfall... I held up hope for her, for them...and with that awful moment of vengeance and hatred from Athena it all was snuffed away from me in the finale....maybe she didn't deserve a happy ending...bo who did on BSG?!
