Bodies, faces, smiles, and laughter -- they were all traits, parts of a person that equaled to a human. The bodies and the heat between them was something they all felt as the minutes wore on, the energy in the room heavy above their heads. The scene was always the same - cocky boys going for girls out of their league. The exception was the lesbian couples that would hide in the dark corner of the room, or, if one chose to look closely, the way the shy boys would cast nervous, hopeful glances at each other. Besides the basics, the only thing Reita was reasonably sure of was that everyone in the room, big or little, had an ulterior motive, whether it be to find love or make love, or simply to find company elsewhere for the night. Nobody wanted to be alone forever, Reita reasoned.
Reita’s fingers were wrapped around the stem of his thin martini glass, his nails tapping almost impatiently against the black countertop. He knew what he was waiting for - he knew what his ulterior motive was. He was neither surprised nor startled when arms wrapped around his shoulders and a cheek pressed into his neck.
“You’re late,” Reita murmured, leaning back into the arms around him, into the embrace that beckoned him so.
“Isn’t it dangerous to be alone in a place like this?” was the reply he received. Reita didn’t know whether to laugh or to smirk with a witty comment.
He chose the latter.
“Is it really dangerous when you already know who’s coming for you?” Reita replied, entwining his fingers with Kai’s, the familiarity relaxing, calming. In that moment of awareness there was nothing more he wanted than for Kai to kiss him, to make the cheesy, romantic scene complete. He opted for tilting his head just so, the gesture not missed by Kai in the least bit, the one person whom Reita was sure knew himself better than anyone. Kai pressed a possessive hand against the side of his face, changing the angle of their bodies just so, allowing their lips to touch, to let them both feel a little more alive, a little more in what could very well be love.
It never ceased to astound him just how many times they could replay a scene like this each night and never grow weary of it but somehow never grow a step closer in becoming anything more, anything stable.
Their relationship was unsteady, rocky and as unbalanced like a game of Jenga. Reita didn’t have a desire to sleep with anyone else and he’d yet to see Kai kissing others. He had simply never been allowed to Kai’s place - Kai refused to let him and something told him Kai was waiting for the right now, the right moment. He couldn’t resist the urge of temptation in wishing, in hoping, that tonight was the night of all nights.
“I think,” Kai murmured, “you should take me home.”
It was here Reita was sure he’d missed something - this game was the same as always but now Kai was throwing a curveball and changing the guidelines, editing them for his pleasure but excluding Reita from the knowledge. Hope welled up in Reita and he was sure it was an emotion he couldn’t keep off his face. He had never been much good at hiding his emotions whereas Kai had always been terribly good of feeding off them.
He held hope, too much of it, in fact.
“Where is your home?” Reita asked nervously.
He held hope and Kai knew it.
“Wherever yours is,” Kai replied noncommittally.
And damn was he good at crushing it.

On another note, I mean for this to have a good ending.
Not something with bad, impending doom. ;]
Also, after hearing alice nine's RAINBOWS, I've been stuck on it.
And I've downloaded almost all their albums. I haven't heard more than two songs from them, but now I am determined to download all of their music, as well as listen and enjoy. ♥
