A nice gentle waking-up

May 25, 2007 16:22

I was so happy this morning not to be woken up by a police siren, a car backfiring, or some random yelling at the top of his or her inevitably chav voice. Instead, I was woken by birdsong and rustling leaves. Aaaahhhh.

I hope we'll stay in this new place for a good while. It's sunny, light, airy and comfy. OK, the bathroom and kitchen are a bit tiddly, but we never used half the space in our old bigger bathroom anyway.

Yay for new house-ness.

Haven't got the net set up there yet, but that's OK, because it'll give me time to work on my book. The New Novelist software is great actually, really helpful at guiding writers through steps. It lays down the basic bones of a story - you can rename them - and prompts you to think deep about your characters and get to know them. I have writtenneaely four chapters now. The going is slow, but perhaps that's best, as I feel the going is good.

new flat, yayness
