Enough.

This morning, we did yoga and climbing as is our wont. I am working on getting better at flexibility, improving my left leg strength, increasing the level at which I can climb.

I strive for the entire class to do just a bit more. Just a bit harder. So when we meditate in class, it can be hard for me to let go.

I kept having the various intruding thoughts that you tend to get during meditation - I should get coconut milk and cashew cream; maybe I can do my dairy elimination for another week to get more data. Maybe I can start running again soon. Perhaps I can carve out an hour to spend some time writing today.

Dismiss the thought, try to clear my mind, along comes another one. Here's another way that I can be better, work harder.

And, seemingly out of nowhere, I thought "No. This isn't what we're doing. Yoga is the practice of being enough. Right now, right here, you are enough."

Oh.

Reader, I almost started crying in yoga class. I spend a lot of time trying to be better and not a lot of time being enough. Feeling myself take up space. Occupying myself.

So just in case you feel the same, let me tell you: you are enough.

Right here, right now, you are enough.
