question about leaving chins alone for a few days
Hello. I am wondering what is the longest anyone has ever left their chins alone at a time? I am going out of town for the long weekend over the holiday and was wondering if I just left enough food in the cage w/ a filled water bottle if they would be ok? They don't consume their pellets very quickly, but they mow down their hay pretty fast.
So I'm wondering if I should have my neighbor look in on them (which also poses a slight sense of worry b/c I don't want them to escape while someone else might be looking after them, either.) I will be gone about 3 days. It's been four years since I have had a chinchilla and recently adopted a pair of them from a young boy who turned out to be allergic. Any input is appreciated.
It's been awhile since I have had a chin, as I mentioned. I had one when I was just out of college, my unfortunately my psychopants roommate killed him... I was lucky she didn't kill my dog as well. Needless to say I moved out soon after that incident. :-\ So I have only this weekend become a chin owner again...
