Fear the rambling!

Because it's what I do best. ^_^

So, today was awesome. Not only did it go quickly (thanks to three different consecutive meetings and the teacher's class this afternoon) but cool things happened. Let's just say that today was the polar opposite of what happened on Tuesday last week.

1. Got my $20 scanner. Now, I just have to hook it up to the computer and all of that. But I need to find a surge protector with a longer cord so I can plug it in both my computer and the wall. Those who have seen my apartment will understand how tricky an undergoing this shall be. I'm sure there is an easy solution somehwere...

2. Class got out early. WHEEEEEE!

3. The sumbitches who made my life hell last week got dressed down, so they were actually nice to me today. I just smiled, as per usual.

4. My bosses (yes, both of them) are going to be out of town for the rest of the week. Of course, this didn't happen today, but I count it as such because I only remembered this morning at one of the meetings.

5. The "big" bosses were actually joking around with me during the staff meeting. That is, the vice president and the...what is he...director? Yep, I made them laugh heartily.

6. Michael, the "director," ended the meeting by announcing that we were going to have a spring "getaway" session. His plan, he informed us, was to take in a Yankees' baseball game at Shea and afterwards go to a barbecue at someone's house. ^_____________^ I supported his decision wholeheartedly. While I'm not the biggest baseball fan, there really is something joyous about being at a live game.

7. Got the first wave of books for my very own project! Now, I just gotta find places to send them...

8. And last thing, I met up with one of my bosses on the way back from lunch. We started chatting when she suddenly says, "You know, I had a dream with you in it last night." Before I could get weirded out by it, she continues, "Yeah, I dreamt that you were a full-time artist. You weren't involved in museum work or anything like that, and all of your artwork kept floating by and it was gorgeous. Kind of neat dream...hey, do you want to become an artist someday?" Of course, I was staring at her like she had two heads, and all I could do was nod and go "Uh huuuh..." She looks interested and says, "Really, what kind?"
"Illustrator..."
"For...?"
"Children's books."
"Then you should go for it." And then we got distracted by EMTs rushing by us because some big wig had fainted on the 8th floor, but all the same. I think I was stunned for quite a while afterwards. Maybe my boss is prophetic? God, I hope so. ^_^

So, yes, that was my day. I'm super excited about it.

Oh, and here's a meme snaggered from karotsamused
