Jan 02, 2008 15:01

2nd January - Karyna Tsimerbayeva (1992) from Belarus, made her major competition appearance debut at the 2007 World Artistic championships in Stuttgart, Germany. She finished 204th in the all-around competition, only competing on vault (13.125) and on floor (12.150).

-       Loes Linders (1988) from the Netherlands. Renowned as a thorn in the Netherlands Gymnastics Federation’s side - especially when she missed out on a place in the 2004 Olympics team. Her best floor routine has been that of 2004 funnily enough. She made the Worlds team this year as a reserve and in 2006 was 40th in the all-around.

-       Oksana Omelianchik (1970) representative of the Soviet Union. She remains very much involved with gymnastics as a choreographer, coach and judge and heads the women’s technical committee for the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation. She was the 1985 World All Around and Floor Champion, and here is the beautiful routine in which she scored a perfect 10 with - very much deserved.
