So Jackie Flood is in my feature writing class and we talked for like 20 minutes after class this morning and it made it feel really school-ish. Like, I am finally here and I know people and people are happy to see me back here for class. It's nice. This afternoon I have poetry with Mark Yakich and then senior seminar and time with my ga. It feels so good not to be bored.
I really hope Mark Yakich doesn't make me want to punch him. I mean, he's a nice guy and all and obviously respected in the poetry world and like, has accomplished what I only hope of having accomplished by the time I'm his age, but he's totally like the kids from Fifi's except 15 years older and talented. Plus his following is huge and if forced to choose, I'm going to side with Eric Torgersen every time. Woo underdog. Speaking of which, Jackie got to SIT NEXT TO Eric Torgersen at her English frat's honorary dinner last spring. Jealous.
I bought a book of poetry assignments in case I don't have it goin on this semester. Chris thinks I will, but I pretty much haven't written all summer. I hope I'm not one of the bad writers in this poetry class, especially since I will at least know a few people who are taking it; James Brown, Shannon, that one kid from Shepherd who always uses fixed line breaks.
Whatever. There's a bike outside with my name on it.
