Can Austin secede? Can we go up north where it's more Blue?
Texas has this whole "Republic of Texas" thing going where some people are proud that we can, if we choose, secede from the Union at any time and become a sovereign nation. Of course we will never do this because then we wouldn't have any federal aid, we'd have to mint Texas money which would be ridiculously crappy, etc etc. But, Texas as a state is clearly in favor of small bits being able to remove themselves from large bits. Travis County wants out. You can move the Capitol to Round Rock, or something. Trade it for the Ikea.
