Oh man, so, SO AWESOME to have a new workspace. Window! Actual storage! Flat surface that is not the floor! I also got a new glue gun, one of the standard-sized ones with a precision tip: it is happiness. I understand now how people can do those intricate designs in glue.
HASEO
- Gauntlet fingers are all cut, assembled, and Mod Podged: still need wet-sanding and painting. I went with a three-part pattern for each joint instead of just a folded over triangle, so they look nice and sharp and taloned.
- Messing around with the gorget pattern. I ran out of posterboard before making any real progress :/
- Ordered the wig from Prichara, courtesy of
kiratsukai. It's
this one, I needed the center-front part and all the others I could find were too thin in the back or had a button top.
ENDRANCE
- Sword base is done, planed out of poplar. The hilt shape I did by doing Bondo over foam and then carving out the foam to get a hollow shell. Hilt needs more sanding and detailing in epoxy.
- Got about half the hair ornament discs sculpted and baked.
- Need to order the suede from DistinctiveFabrics and the fur from Mendel's. I hate ordering fabric online :/
PI
- My friend Josephine's doing Pi for Otakon! Because skimpy costumes in Baltimore is how she rolls, yo. We got a vacuumformed styrene skullcap and I am in the process of fiberglassing it to fit/be stronger so I can screw the individual pigtail armatures onto it. This isn't a wig, it's a helmet with incidental Kanekalon.
ATOLI
-... I promise I didn't forget you D: I need Jo and Olga to be at my house at the same time so the former can guide the latter through the dress.
Next post there will be pictures and stuff, I hope.
