progress: Ash clothes (pretty much) done, wings at 80%
Neeeeearly finished with my coat and pants. Pants need waistband + rear pockets, coat needs the opening of the lining stitched shut. However, after TEN HOURS OF HANDSEWING yesterday, I felt like taking a break. So today, wings.
I'm kind of annoyed at how they're turning out. I used turkey body plumage for the "arms" of the wings, but between the small feathers and the huge wings it looks out of scale. Also the feathers are so darn fluffy they look like fake fur from a distance. Considering all the work that Vincent went through to trim them to points for me (only time I've ever had to make brownies for cosplay >__>), this is irritating.
I found out the name of the studio that makes the wings for the Victoria's Secret fashion show. It's a pity their interns are all Pratt/FIT people; I don't think they'd be interested in someone who goes to a CUNY college and pretends to major in biology. LE SIGH. That would be the best job in the world.
