Uhoh! Where the pictures go!?

Hunter Cottoneye was not what anyone in Riverview would have called ‘husband’ or ‘father’ material. Most people were rather blunt about telling Abbey that he had put her faith in the wrong man.
He was paranoid, they said. Neurotic and strange. Has strange ideas.
But at home in their little cabin, Abbey could see none of that.

All she could see was a man who loved his daughter.

Together they taught Bailey to walk and talk…

… and it seemed like no time at all, she was ready to potty train.

Hunter even made sure that there was a baby sitter for when he and Abbey had to work.
No… no matter what people said about Hunter… he was not a bad father or husband. Besides, if Bob Newbie (yes, THAT Bob Newbie) could
parade around in his bathrobe and slippers, then who were they to say that Hunter was strange?

On weekends, he would stand on the front porch and paint while
Abbey tended the garden.

Bailey also spent plenty of time in the garden with her mother. Love of the great outdoors is in the Barnsworth blood very deeply, it seems.
And all too soon, it is time for Bailey to grow up.

Her babysitter, Latosha Landry, is there to help her celebrate her birthday.

Here she is after a decent hair cut and a new change of clothes.
As was mentioned previously, the outdoors is something of a passion for this house hold. They spent so much time out of doors.

Hunter is an Angler, who loves to sneak away to fish, even though he has very little time for it now that he is working to support his family.

Bailey spends a lot of time playing in water springlers in her mother’s garden.

And both Abbey and Bailey love to ride their bikes all around town.
When asked once why she did not have a car, Abbey told her snobby neighbors…”Well, really,
look around you? Why would I want to miss all of this by shrouding myself inside a vehicle?”
Hunter had a truck, of course, which he had owned before he had even met Abbey. She did not begrudge him the truck, however, because he couldn’t carry his fishing poles on a bike.

After a fashion, Hunter quit his job as a test subject in a science laboratory and went to work cleaning bedpans at the local hospital.
It gave him more time to
spend at home with Bailey and Abbey, and he honestly liked the wardrobe change. Scrubs are very comfortable, it seems.
Although, it is quite possible that working in the science had a bad effect on him and he needed a break before it broke him completely. Indeed, while
Bailey slept firm in the knowledge that she had a father who loved her, Hunter’s more ‘insane’ tendencies had started to emerge.

He’d always had some odd ways. He was paranoid and was constantly checking the windows and doors for unseen dangers, but now he was dressing oddly at odd times.
He also suddenly became obsessed with fixing the appliances (whether they needed it or not) and cleaning every inch of the house. Rather OCD of him, for the most part. But fixing and cleaning was not unwelcomed, so Abbey did not worry about it so much.

Unfortunately, cause did arise when he attempted to “fix” their stone fireplace. It might have been the end of Hunter had the fire department not shown up.
That day, the family learned a hard lessen. Abbey was especially distraught because she was once again pregnant and the baby was due any day now. She did not know what she would do if Hunter had died in the fire.
“Doan’ you worry none, Abbey girl,” Hunter said. “I woan’ go a-tryin’ that one agin. Ah promise you.” He made his pledge and kissed her on the cheek.
