Last time on the Chex Mix, Hunter returned to Twin Brook to woo Lolly Racket… became a glorified farmer… and got a cat.
Which is apparently where we’re starting off today… with Misty grooming herself.
And the obligatory short of Hunter working in the garden. Unlike his father and brother, he doesn’t garden shirtless. More’s the pity… :-/
When he’s done at his house, he heads over to tend the Twin Brook public garden, as well. Also not shirtless.
Later, he gets cleaned and heads over to Lolly’s house, as he’s been invited to a party.
He is a bit nervous, because the last time he was here, her father tossed him out like a piece of unwanted trash.
Nobody seems to be saying anything this time, however, and he and Lolly …. erm, ahh… get to spend a lot of quality time together.
This is the park in Twin Brook. Isn’t it beautiful?
Hunter is enjoying the peace and quiet while he waits for Lolly to show up. She says she’ll meet him right after work, near the big fountain.
She finally arrives…
“Ummm… Lolly?” he asks. “Where are your shoes?”
“I… lost them?” The truth is, Lolly’s family has a lot of, umm, colorful pastimes. Like criminal activity, and Lolly has just escaped (narrowly) from some kind of illicit adventure. She must have lost her shoes then, but she has no clue how to explain that to Hunter.
Thankfully for her, Hunter is more than a little bit insane and her lame excuse does not seem to phase him in the least.
Actually, he’s on a bit of a mission today, and that is to ask Lolly to move in with him.
She accepts, naturally, and is soon making herself at home in his home.
They work out as a couple, heading to the gym several nights a week. Lolly claims she wants to fit into her dress for their wedding. (It might really be because she wants to get away from the cops without losing her shoes!)
Misty, jumping up on the furniture.
Hunter works out at home, too, sometimes.
“Ahhh! Honey, must you DO that!?”
Apparently, yes, she must, because she’s doing it again on their wedding day. Hehehe…
The ceremony is small and there aren’t a lot of guests. No one from Hunter’s side could come because of the distance, but he was okay with that because they had all called him the night before to wish him good luck and congratulations.
But all he could think about as he recited his vows … was his beautiful bride and how, soon, they would be husband and wife.
Hunter staring off into nothing after the ceremony. Makes no sense, really. Maybe he misses his family, after all?
Lolly has her cellphone in her dress pocket? Or strapped to her leg by a garter belt?
Ah yes… reading at your wedding. It seems have seen this before…
Yep…
I have! So… Lolly’s greatest wish is to own a cellar full of really expensive nectar. It’s the one thing she wants more than anything else in the world.
Shortly after their wedding, Lolly convinces Hunter to dig her a wine cellar, for just that purpose. He’s got a garden… they can grow their own grapes and other fruit. Maybe sell it all and be “filthy stinking rich” someday!
Well, the construction crew got down an few feet and hit something hard and metallic… a strange box with even stranger controls on the front. It had been buried deep in the ground. Unsure of what to do with it, Hunter left it in the back yard and went on building the nectar cellar. When he was finished, they hauled the box down to the cellar and left it there… forgotten…
… until one day…
… when it started to glow…
