Last time on the Chex Mix… Garrett repeated tried to kill himself inventing things… went on a blind date with Caroline Pierre and hunted ghosts. This time…
He’s decided that being a bad-assed ghost hunter requires a bad-assed work uniform. Lookin’ schmexy, Garrett!
And yet, for being such a tough guy, he’s taking Jake’s death very hard.
“I can’t believe you’re so broken up about this!”
Caroline also has to go to work, so she rushes off…
Leaving a broken-hearted Garrett to be comforted by … Jerod Blanco.
Calvin watching an invisible Sim Fest. I really have to figure out why they are invisible.
No… its not because Garrett hatched an Ebil Plot to get rid of the performers. But isn’t his Ebil Face adorable?
“Yes, it is adorable, but could you please quit calling it ‘Ebil’? That somehow undermines the purpose.”
*sigh*
Heading off to work in his new duds.
Someone reported a haunting at the cemetery, of all places. Garrett had to investigate.
Y’all remember Caroline, right? Well… as you can see, their relationship has progressed to the point where she’s spending the night.
Sometimes in Garrett’s bed, sometimes in his sisters’ old room.
Today she woke up a little on the queasy side.
Or maybe she thinks Tamsie smells?
(and also…awww… this is a cute animation!)
But no… it turns out that all this “spending the night” has Caroline coming down with a bad case of ‘baby-itis.’ Yes, she’s pregnant.
Garrett does the noble thing and asks her to move in with him. After all, now that his sisters are gone, they have more than enough room.
Caroline, of course, says yes!
Random shot of Calvin taking Babii for a walk.
As the days progressed, Garrett has been acting… weird… weirder than usual? Secretive. Finally he invited Caroline on a private trip to the beach.
He drops to one knee… and proposes.
Again.. she says yes!
As time moves forward, Caroline REALLY starts to show, just emphasizing the fact that they haven’t made any wedding plans. They *have* been busy, after all. Between the ghosts and her moving in and… more ghost hunting…
You get the idea.
The truth is, when it was all said and done and the plans were finally made, Garrett was feeling a wee bit nervous.
Here he was, a young man on the top of his game, with all of life before him. A beautiful woman who loved him… who was also having his baby…
… and instead of being a happy groom on the night of his bachelor party…
… Garrett was pouring his heart out to the bartender. Telling her how he really cared about Caroline, but he was no longer sure that marriage was the right thing. “Have we rushed into things?” He wondered aloud. He had always thought that marriage and babies were what life was all about.
“The thing is… I spend my nights hunting ghosts. Sometimes its just piddly little hauntings, where the ghosts don’t have enough power to fully manifest. But sometimes… sometimes they are full manifestations who can communicate with me… and I’ve heard things. Laments and regrets… things they wished they’d done or said. Things they wished they’d done differently or not done at all.” He sighed deeply, and it was a tortured sound. “Don’t get me wrong… Caroline is a great girl. Sexy and smart, but also sweet as can be. I just… don’t know anymore.”
“Don’t know what?” The bartender asked.
“I don’t know,” sighed Garrett. He couldn’t put into words what he was feeling. His father said it was ‘cold feet’ and he’d get over it by the time they got back from the honeymoon.
In the morning, you couldn’t tell there was anything wrong with Garrett. It was his wedding day and outwardly, he was the picture of the perfect groom. Inwardly, he was just waiting for the honeymoon, to prove his father’s words true…
As everyone freaked out… Caroline went into labor.
Garrett rushed her to the hospital, realizing that Fate was working against him, and there wasn’t actually going to be a honeymoon.
Instead, they welcomed Holmes Chex, a perceptive little genius, into the world.
