So. Halloween's coming. It's a big holiday for me every year. I agonize over my ensemble. I pretend I'll get to wear a sweater once in a while. I freak out over Christmas plane tickets and vacation time.
But mostly, I love to read good stories. Spooky, romantic, frakked up, or just plain totally rad stories.
Which makes it similar to the rest of the year. But that's beside the point.
Last Halloween the brilliant Hayseed wrote a story that continues to inspire me:
More Things in Heaven and Earth. It inspired a more-than-worthy sequel by Telanu,
The Life You Save May Be Your Own, and was prequelled by Hayseed this past May with
Gorgeous. The first story was written for the
All Hallows ficathon, which may or may not be on again this season, but regardless, I'd love to see some thematic stories on the DWP comm.
And I want you all to start thinking about it now. For reals, people.
I'm not really interested in running any sort of official comm or -thon or whatnot, because I'm like, supposed to be working on my latest effort, and figure I'd better contribute something myself if I'm begging for others to do some writing. So, consider the gauntlet thrown. Go forth and think of scary things. Like Miranda dressing up as a dude and nailing Andy on the fire escape of some seedy bar on Devil's Night.
Wait. Scary. Um, Miranda dressing up as a dude and nailing someone else on the fire escape of some seedy bar on Devil's Night. That would be scary. Anyway, hope some folks are interested. I love Halloween and I want you all to help me look forward to it even more than usual!
