So I'm gonna go yell at GWB... Personally
So Friday was State for con team. I don't know how many of you have ever made state for anything, but it feels good. Especially in something academic, cause unlike sports it depends on how well you prepair, its not like well that guy is 8 feet tall and bench presses a bus... when he was 8, so you have no chance. But in the case of con team you can spend more time with your unit than your family prepairing (at least in the month of january) and still have no idea of what questions your gonna get asked. Cause we spent like the whole time studying pretty much everything they didn't ask us in follow-up. They asked us about the history of the establishment clause... wtf i mean thats more like unit one material. Like I can quote case law about all kinds of shit (as long as its religion, speech, or the 8th amendment;akthough at the same time not as well as I would like, so goal for nationals, study way more) but we/I can barely talk about that shit. i mean we got one question in 6 min about the lemon test, which is like what are whole direct was about. These questions were Mike Curtis random (unit 4(?) coach, askes us random ass questions).
I guess in the end it didnt' matter to much cause we WON!!!!!!!!!! Do you know how nerve racking it is waiting to hear rankings while sitting on the legislative floor and they keep stalling, they introduced the person who was introducing the speaker who was up there to stall. It was crazy intense. I swear when your at that level every letter of the alphabet sounds like a G. Luckily we were the last name called, of course when they called lincoln we knew we had won (always a kunadrum when announcing rankings in that kinda situation). This means I'm on a nationally ranked team! In the past 2 years there have only been 3 teams in the top 3 for nationals, and we've been one of them(we got 2nd last yr and 3rd the year b4, so heres hopping to continue the climb). So pretty much, if i wasnt a con nerd first semseter, i'm going to be a huge one now.
So shitty news, EC is the same weekend as Prom :( Only thing that could make this worse if it nationals are that weekend, even though i'm almost positive tehy aren't gonna all be that weekend. So i have to make a decsion. In the end i think i know what i'll end up choosing (BBYO). I mean unless things change, which they very easily could, but if they don't i'll be at the beach a day b4 the rest of my sr class. I know i won't be the first, and i won't be the last person in bbyo to miss prom, but damn its hella lame.
