i need to approve our album for digital distribution to things like itunes, rhapsody, etc. and because i obsess over these things, i'm stuck on under what two genres to file us. now that many of you have actually had a chance to listen to the album, i'm hoping you can share your thoughts. keep in mind that beyond just describing the album, there's also a certain element of marketing here as far as putting our music where people who might like it are likely to find it. it is also relevant to point out, that these are two genres for the album rather than the band in general.

additionally, we are asked to list up to three other "famous" bands/artists that we are similar to, and i'm a bit stumped on that one too.
