this is not a post about my trip...
...but it is a post about two awesome friends doing two awesome music projects
first off, my musical soul brother, why_style, has launched a blog chronicling his work to complete one musical composition per week for the entire year with each piece based on a different feeling. i've worked with him on a lot of different music over the years, most recently he helped considerably with the score for Mischief in the Machine, and i'm really excited by the music he's creating for this project. he would very much appreciate feedback and input, so i encourage you to follow along and share your thoughts and opinions with him at Musings from the TribeMind
secondly, another kindred spirit, Kim Vermillion (of the Vermillion Lies) is writing, recording and posting a song every day for the entire month of January for a project she has appropriately titled Thirty-One. you can listen and download the ongoing work at the album's page through the VL bandcamp site. you can follow along via the VL twitter, facebook, and myspace pages, and you can read her blog posts about the songs on her myspace page. the music ranges from rough to polished, and from emotionally raw to surreal & silly. she has a great voice and charming perspective, and you should go check out what's she doing. it's an inspiration for creativity and determination.
