So, contrasts between northern and southern germany...
1. Maybe it was just the city I lived in, but southern germany was a lot more green. Everybody rode bikes there. Here there are a lot more cars, there's litter on the street and I don't even have a recycle bin, let alone the multiple trash cans we had to use to separate our waste in Freiburg. (Admittedly, this is like a hotel, so maybe they're not expecting us dumb foreigners to get it...and I did see the separate bins on the street.)
2. Northern germans smell way better. It could have been all the exchange students or maybe just the warmer weather, but I felt like a lot of people had BO in the south...here they wear cologne (reasonable amounts too, which is more than I can say for most americans that try to put it on...)
3. There's a mall. There's a grocery store that's open until ten...o...clock. In short, they're turning more into america.
More to come...I don't have too much more here to do than observe...
