Help DEAD AT THE BOX OFFICE be seen by George Romero!
Hi, all!
As many of you know, "Dead at the Box Office" was created as a loving, tongue-in-cheek salute to George Romero's genre-defining zombie movies "Night of the Living Dead", "Dawn of the Dead" and "Day of the Dead". In recent years, Romero has created two more films in the series, "Land of the Dead" and the brand-new "Diary of the Dead".
On MySpace, the producers of "Diary of the Dead" are holding a short film contest, the winner of which will have their film included among the bonus features of the "Diary of the Dead" DVD. The top ten finalists -- as determined by overall rating on MySpace -- will be viewed and narrowed down to five by George Romero himself!
We've entered the DaBO preview trailer in the contest, and while we don't expect the trailer to win overall, we'd really, really love it if we could make it into the top ten. That's where you come in! Well, at least those of you with a MySpace account ...
Go to the "Diary of the Dead" MySpace page
http://www.myspace.com/diaryofthedead
and click on the thumbnail link for "Dead at the Box Office" (we're still on the front page as of this writing, though only until a couple more videos are added -- after that, you'll need to click on "Recent Entries" or "Contest Gallery" to find it). Alternately, you can save a few steps by going directly to the trailer's page located at
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2526150
. Once the trailer page loads up, click on the "Booyah!" thumbs-up icon underneath the video. It's that simple!
Strangely enough, if you refresh your browser, the option to vote comes up again, but I'm not suggesting you HAVE to vote over and over ... :)
Thanks for helping us get "Dead at the Box Office" seen by George Romero! It'll be a dream come true for everyone involved!
