Criminals
The world is a fucked up place. In recent weeks, the following crimes have taken place in the area:
* A man breaks into a house where there are two young children, a 16 year old girl and her 12 year old brother. The man proceeds to rape the girl while making her brother watch. When the brother tried to escape, the attacker stabbed the boy in the throat.
The two children managed to escape and the boy lived after time in the er. The police found the attacker asleep in his own bed. He had been warned by the children's parents to not come around the house anymore prior to the attack.
* A local nun who ran a half way house was killed by one of the residents while he was trying to steal her cell phone. He was going to try to sell it to buy crack. The nun, if he had just explained what he was doing, would have tried to help him. Instead, he killed a woman who spent her life helping others.
* The owner of a small restaurant was killed for what was in his register. This man who often gave meals to customers who could not pay for their meals and hired employees who could not find work elsewhere, was killed for a small amount of cash on a slow day. The killer has not been found.
The local area has had to close libraries; schools, police, and fire houses are underfunded; roads are in poor condition; and jobs are leaving the area with no help from rising taxes. However, our jails are filled with scumbags who commit such useless crimes. Why is it fair?
