I missed the night race from Daytona again.
To be fair, I am writing an essay and I forgot all about it.
This, at least, is the last essay for the year. But I need to get about 30 pages of my thesis done over the next two months. This might not be impossible.
Either way, I am looking forward to going back to work, though I could have used a little more downtime than ...none. I start Monday. Naturally, I am taking things down to the wire and will finish this paper minutes before leaving town for the Heart of Alberta. I was originally scheduled as engineer on Friday, and I hope that that is still the case. It will be nice to be (officially) in the seat again. As long as I remember how to use that damn 6L brake.
Ugh. One step above stopping a train with handbrakes.
