A new sponsorship

First, a big thank you to margorand for pointing me towards Children of Chernobyl NC.

I've signed up and am sponsoring a kid there--well, I actually picked an 18-year-old. I guess that's not a "kid."

On the one hand, I wonder how much longer he'll be in the system. On the other, I wonder if he's not been in it long enough to really need a sponsor. I don't know which way to go with that. ;-) Anyway, I chose a boy on purpose, but the age was just the way it turned out. He "spoke" to me. So here I am.

Also, I hope its organizers are aware of how quaintly amusing it is that they use shopping cart software to process sponsorships. *cough*

So now I've got three: a girl in Gambia through CCF, a girl in Sri Lanka through OSI, and a boy in Belarus through COFC. So much for my "I'll do a boy and a girl, and that's it." Now, to balance it, I'd need another boy, but...yeah.

I'm one of those many people who "doesn't have enough money." There are loads of nice things I'd like to buy, an exotic vacation I'd like to take, and credit cards I need to pay off. On the other hand, I figure I make a decent salary, and I live alone with no children of my own to support (except my cat). So I sort of also feel like I do have enough money, even if I "don't." It really doesn't take a whole lot to help people in need. If I can subscribe to Netflix when I'm not even into movies, surely I can sponsor a kid in Russia. ;-)
