Writing my Fallout fan fiction has brought me to the realization that I know little to nothing about the geography of the East Coast. It's so much simpler, living here on the West Coast, with only three states to count -- and Canada. How in the world do people travel to the Commonwealth (Massachusetts) from the Capital Wasteland (Washington DC) via two-headed cow? Are there any major modes of transportation in the Fallout world that I am not aware of? Via car, the a trip from DC to Boston is 6 hours, or 438 miles. Considering that people in the 1700s probably took that trip often, and it took only a week or two, maybe I am making a bigger deal of this than I should. But my question still remains: is there, either speculatively or in game modes of mass transportation? I think I remember something about Tenpenny immigrating from Europe, so there must be airports or commercial ship ports somewhere. Thoughts?
