4.0 is UNSATISFACTORY

Dec 28, 2003 19:08

One of our Christmas presents was a new computer.  This was all well and good, but now AOL has to be reloaded on this computer.  And the only version that came with the computer was 4.0-FIVE VERSIONS AWAY FROM 9.0!  I'm okay though, I can still IM.

My posts will stop for about a week after today, because my family's going to Ocean Isle for the New Year with the Bledsoes.  On that note, here's my first annual year in review (This is as close as a Christmas letter you guys are getting):

"2003 was full of S's for this Sophomore.  Seniors, SARS, School, Sloppy breakups and hookups of my friend, and a host of Silly and Smart descisions.

January: My clan headed to Falls Creek, OK for a family reunion.  We spent New Year's in Oklahoma City, and while there, visited the Vaughan's.  Mixed emotions came from seeing a guy that fell away from friendship with me.  It was like something that never came into fruition.

February: Valentine's came and went without a notice by me except for the annual Cameo Art Theater trip by our Youth Group.  All I did was watch Hannah and Luke make out in the row ahead of me while on the screen some pirate ghost stalked this lady who bought his house.  Ski Trip also happened, and Matt Anderson tried to smother me in my sleep.

March:  I turned 15, and finished Driver's Ed.  I'm still alive today.

April and May: It rained in April.  During May I went to VA for my cousin's graduation.  His father just left their family for his girlfriend in Cali.  Now my cousin is a drunk, prone to fornication and pretty proud.  I guess you have to be.  He says the Military will reform him, but I have my doubts.  I give him 6 months.

June: Always my biggest Summer month, I went to Ridgecrest Music Week and spent time with some of my favorite people in the world.  I also learned one of life's lessons: The less you know of somebody, the more reason you have to like them.

July: While the rest of my youth group went to M-Fuge for a week in which I've never seen much meaning, I traveled to Campbell University for my best camp experience to date.  I went to NC Baptist All State Youth Choir, and during the week I had my heart broken, I almost broke a girl's nose, I broke down some barriers, and learned to stand up for what I know is true.  Also, my family took a trip to Wyoming to Yellowstone.

August: School started again, and I entered my latest year of Senior High.  Sophomore year has been my best year socially, academically, and spiritually.  I'm learning what it means to be happy in my personality, and not trying to please other people.

September:  Joe turned 18 on the 4th.  Also, my dad's brother and family moved to Tabor City, NC.  I'm glad that we have family in our own state.  For as long as I can remember, seeing the Spena famliy meant a two day trip to Missouri.  I'm also glad I have a closer relationship to some of my cousins.

October: My first Halloween to not have anything to do, and it was great.  I almost felt bad that the puppet team had nothing to do this year.

November: My soccer team traveled to Nationals and placed 5th.  Maybed one day I'll be more than mediocre at a sport. Nah.

December: Christmas came, and so did Will's 18th Birthday.  I had a great Christmas at home, but I really wanted to be in Missouri with my Spena family.  I regret not growing up near to the family like all my cousins did.  I also regret my parents stopping at three kids.  I want my children to have a lot of siblings.  I realized at this season how separated I am from my mom's family.  I'm fine with that, though.  I like my close family and friends enough."

Sincerely, Andrew Spena

I hope that everybody has a happy New Year.  Stay Safe and Sober, Joe and  Amanda.
