Despite the many surreal aspects of their situation, Adelle held her own. As always. But one word from him, one simple word, and she was undone. Adelle. No one would be able to see how this tore her apart. Had the drugs not kicked in he would have known; he would have seen right through her to where he'd shaken her at the core. Yet after hearing him speak her name she was a broken woman, never mind that he spoke with Victor's voice. It was still him. And he could still rip her heart out with a single word.
