Alex ears
Alex had 2 appts today. One was a flu shot at the Ped and the other was a recheck with the ENT. I could not take off from the new job. So Hubby took him by himself. I hated not being able to be there. At the Ped they gave him the spray instead of the shot. I am not sure I like that. The fact that the spray is the live virus verses the dead one in the shot worries me. I hate that I was not there to make the decision. At the ENT they told hubby that the hole in his ear has not closed up yet. Just to recap he got tubes in July 2010 at 18 months. One tube fell out this Spring but the hoe did not close up. We rechecked him in the summer and the other tube was out and THAT hole was closed. But today the first hole has still not closed.
The ENT wants to do surgery to close up the hole. I really don't want to out him through that. And as the PED nurse pointed out we are just starting the winter season when ear infection are more common. And if the hole is left open it will allow his ear to drain and possibly prevent ear infections.
