There's this picture...

There's this picture that sits on a shelf above my moniter. The picture is of my grandparents. My father's parents. My mother's parents abused her. When the police got the call, they head out for my mother's house. When they got there... her drunken father had a gun to her head(that's the story i've heard). So, my mother spent the rest of her life in foster homes and such...

anyways... on the picture above my head, is of my father's granparents, Victor and Beverly Aldridge. I love the picture... my grandparents look so happy. My grandmother died... damn... must have been a year ago. She died of cancer. Her and my grandfather had been together for about 54 years. So, my grandfather is never too happy anymore. Can you Imagine, the love of 54 years of your life, waking up to her at about 19,710 days of your life. then one day she's just... gone.. and never coming back. can you imagine? I can't even..

It's kind of upsetting you see because...well... I was there when my grandmother died. She died of cancer in her lymph nodes.. it took her one looonng year, but finally she ended up in the hospital again and we knew that was it. She was laying there in the hospital bed, and i clearly looked upset next to her. So, she said, "Don't worry, Tweety(that's what she had called me since i was a very little boy). It's just god's turn to have me..." So, i just kind of broke down and hugged her. I didn't want to say good bye... infact it wasn't even a good bye... it was... a bad bye i suppose. We left the room, and before we even got to leave the doctor informed us she had passed. Then not too long after, I went to her wake. that was worse... She was just laying there... she looked so pretty and peacefull. It was so hard fighting back the tears, but i had to because the rest of my family was putting in a mutual effort to be strong as well.

Anyways... the picture... it makes her look happy, and it makes me smile. My grandfather's smiling as well. that makes me happy too...
