IUD here I come!!! (Including Updated Info & Malicious Comment From An Anonymous Coward)
I have been given the all clear to get an IUD and I want to know what everyone else's experience with it has been.
So if I may ask a few questions?
Have you had any problems?
Unexpected side effects?
Are your periods worse or weird?
Does it hurt?
Anything else I should know about?
For a little background. I don't take the pill, I have had massive problems with it and have never been able to find one that works for me i.e. I used to get UTI's every month just after my period because my body couldn't cope with the hormones. Apparently quite common, went on for over a year so not just my body adjusting. I instead use the Billings Method and ovulation tests - a very effective method of contraception as a lot of people out there would know, but comes with it stress and sometimes uncertainty which is why I want to get an IUD. I don't need to worry about STI's because I am married and have been for 4 years - my husband and I are monogomous
I just found out I am pregnant and I have scheduled an abortion for next Friday. Because this is not the first time and my stupid country won't give a 26y.o tubal ligation they are willing to let me have an IUD. It will be done a short while after I get the termination. I am nervous but excited (about the IUD that is, the other just upset).
In response to the last paragraph an anonymous poster put a comment on MY JOURNAL, not here, such a lame loser, I thought some of you might get a laugh out of them ;)

Ugggh. If you're half as smart as you like to come across as, why don't you just stop having sex if you're not willing to use contraception? Oh, right - you're a selfish skank who thinks sex is a free-for-all and the results are just disposable because it's an act of enjoyment and nothing more. Go die."
