[Her first thought was how pretty it was with the moon shining down and blanketing everything in pale light. Her next thought was that Huey and the two he came to greet looked very much like a very happy family. Seeing them caused her to pause a short distance away, observing with a slight longing in her eyes.]

[The new arrival into the dream he was watching wasn't lost on him. Looking a short distance away he saw the older girl looking at the scene as if it was something she would've liked to experience. Huey tucked his hands into his pockets and walked over towards Shoukei.]

Welcome to my dream, Shoukei.

[So drawn into the moment was she that Huey's voice startled her. She blinked, glancing between him and the Huey standing with the other people.]

You're... oh! I see... I understand now. [She looks back over wistfully.] Are they... your family?

They're not but...[He couldn't help but look a bit happy as he watched the dream version of himself argue with Tsurugi over some mudane thing while Sharhazad tried to calm the situation down.]they felt like family to me.

[She smiles gently.] I see. That must be a nice feeling.

It is, but I never told them how much they meant to me before they left.

[She frowns at that, looking very sympathetic. That feeling she could truly understand.]

I'm sure they knew. Sometimes... you can know things without words.

Tsurugi was kind of dense. If he was here and he saw me talking to you he'd give me a lecture about the birds and the bees.

[He grimaces slightly as he recalls all the embarrassing lectures Tsurugi would give him.]

You have got to be kidding me. Shoukei, you really don't know about that?

About what? About birds and bees? What's there to know about them?

[Huey pinches his nose as he wonders how somebody could not know the meaning behind the phrase. After a few moments of silence he looks back up at the older and speaks in a blunt tone.]

It's a euphemism for sex.

[Hey. Babies come from trees where she's from, okay? It isn't her fault she doesn't know.]

What...? Oh. [She looks embarrassed.] I-I see... I've never heard it called that before.

[Which now leads to the idea of the contraceptives being pruning shears.]

It's been called that for a long time in mine and other world's as well. I've just had a long string of lu...I've just been involved in a variety of situations that a normal boy my age generally doesn't get involved in.

I see. That's unfortunate. You should be more careful.
