You LOVE a person not because of how they "make you feel," but actually because of how you feel "about" them (ie: in their presence, thinking of them, being with them, etc).

So no, we cannot "hate" a person.

We can only hate the behavior exhibited by that person.

Katie pisses me off almost daily to the extent that I absolutely LOATHE (To dislike someone greatly) her and HATE her behavior.

Yet at the same time, she can do or say something that causes me to fall "in love" with her all over again and completely diffuses my anger and loathing.

Psychologists no longer treat emotions such as love and hate in the context of a "whole" person, but rather the behavior you or I would associate WITH that person. And understanding that concept has allowed me to "love" Katie much more completely and emotionally than any other person I've ever known.

but my question is can someone experience what we call "love" (an intense liking) without "hate" (intense dislike)?

the emotions themselves?

no

The point I was trying to make is that ....

we often fail when DEALING with these emotions to separate the behavior from the person, and THAT'S where the relationship breaks down -- due to inappropriate attacks on the PERSON rather than dealing with the negative feelings (ie: hate, anger) for the behavior exhibited.

Make sense?

1) your type? right now, you just need someone who is breathing... yes, that sounds about right. j/k

2) it's probably true. one would need both to experience both, huh? it's an interesting question.. I dont think there's a simple answer.

I like that it really doesn't narrow down your interests very much...I guess you're into blonde hair, and dark brown hair, oh, and black hair...you also seem to like curly, straight, and "Moe" for some strange reason...If you don't understand that, don't worry...that was really retarded and I apologize...

No. it was wrong. I usually don't go for the blonde hair. care to explain what "Moe" is?

You know...well...it was in really bad context to Larry, Curly, and Moe, but I'm a dumb ass...so...you know...yeah...

Anyways...I really like the tall, skinny guys...strong facial features...not too much muscle...I've always been turned on by red hair, but I seem to migrate towards the dark haired men...
