In Class Defying Death

Feb 19, 2004 11:14

So, I'm sitting in class right now on a MAC computer. It's kind of weird. I'm not really sure how to use it. But I'm doing alright.

So anyway, Beth and I were going down to look for her prom dress at a boutique that was just about 1 1/2 away. So here we are driving about an hour into the trip and we were on a two lane one way road going around a sharp curve. No, I wasn't going too fast but there was 500 feet of ice in the lane I was in. As soon as I hit it my car started spinning.

We did two complete circles before I hit dry pavement and then we were heading right for this huge moutntain og jagged rocks so I hit the breaks and my car skidded sideways before turning around coming to a halt facing the opposite direction.

No, it wasn't over. Just as I looked up there was a truck coming right at us. He swerved and missed my car by no more than an inch. He crashed into the mountain. Two more people crashed into the mountain within the next 10 minutes. It was so horrible. A truck driver pulled ocer and she called the police - I had no reception on my phone. S we sat in her truck to keep warm and they came and she drove off with my keys.

So we sat in the cop car while his partner went to get my keys. The dress shop was closed by the time this was all over.

But it was the scariest thing I've ever experienced. I saw my life flash before my eyes, I honestly thought I was gonna die.

I thanked God for the first time in forever last night and cried myself to sleep.
