Thoughts about the first season of Miraculous Ladybug
I have finished watching yet another series!
I honestly don't know what made me want to watch Miraculous Ladybug. I think I just saw random animated gifs of it on tumblr and thought it was interesting. Turns out the background story is actually interesting. I'd dare saying that the lore and the things that are happening while we follow the main character are actually more interesting than what the main character is doing.
Marinette is not my favorite character ever, but she's cool enough that makes me want to follow up with whatever she's up to. And while I absolutely hate Adrien and Marinette's crush on him, I love Chat Noir. And perhaps one of the things that make this series so charming is how Adrien and Chat Noir are basically the opposite of each other.
I liked most of the characters... except for Chloe. Chloe represents for the story pretty much the same as Ambrose in The Name of the Wind. As if her own personality wasn't bad enough, there is still the matter of her being Marinette's rival for Adrien's love. If it wasn't for Marinette's awesome friendship with Alya (and... well, pretty much every other female character that shows up), I'd just roll my eyes for that. The whole thing with Volpina also annoyed me a bit, but I think it's still early to state my opinions about her.
Overall, I did enjoy watching the series. I'm definitely going to follow up with Season 02!
