Livejournal is a great place for long texts and meta posts etc etc, but Tumblr is definitely better in terms of visibility and and picture sharing. Though I admit, the new-ish feature in the html section of the post page at LJ is getting better. I like how you don't have to upload to scrapbook and type of the html code every time
