[ buffy (perhaps?) can see him from the path. she pauses -- watching for a moment. weighing whether to wade in and disturb the man. ]

[He might initially be seen as he's walking towards the back of the house, but he'll be pretty hidden from the road once he's back there. It might even seem like he's ... hiding?]

[ well, that's odd. after a few moments she takes the plunging first few steps into the snow and makes her way around the house. ]

[Fortunately (for Albert), his reasons for being out there are perfectly innocent. He lets his elf owl out of his pocket, casting him out towards the forest so he can attempt to hunt again.

He's not yet aware he's been followed.]

[ she rounds the corner and simply leans there with one shoulder against the house -- saying nothing. watching. ]

[Albert continues to stand there until the owl is out of sight, then proceeds to turn around to survey what he has to work with--

And he stops at the sight of the familiar young woman.]

...Ah. Buffy.

Seemed cruel to interrupt you.

[ she pushed off the side of the house -- her arms still crossed. ]

'Cruel' is an interesting word to use. [He steps a little closer to properly greet her.] You followed me back here?

[ she smiles. ] It's me, Albert. The day I use a non-interesting word is the day you're contractually obligated to remove my tongue.

[ buffy relaxes as they enter a very casual, friendly kind of situation. ] I saw you from the path. [ she points a thumb back towards the front of the house. ] I promise it wasn't creepy stalker levels of following. Just...one thing led to another and -- like I said -- wanted to avoid the interruption cruelty.

[Ah, Buffy's fancy modern lingo. It'll never cease to amaze Albert.] Creepy stalker. [That particular term seems to amuse him.] I hope your piqued curiosity has been satisfied.

[ she is tickled pink by his own amusement. ] I'd hate for you to take a restraining order against me, Albert. My poor little heart would break.

I'm afraid there are very few people who could restrain you if you had your mind set on something, Buffy. Broken heart or not.

It's, uhm, a piece of paper. Not that one of those could stop me -- but paper cuts? Major sucksville. One of those babies'll floor even the best disciplined Slayer.

A piece of a paper? [...Ah. That's interesting. Something that must be made available to everyone in her world.] I suppose paper cuts are a daily hazard with so much journal usage.

A legal order...like, it's a document that says it's illegal for you to go within such-and-such a distance of so-and-so. Prosecutable. So I guess it's more than just the paper.

[ ah. worlds were there are legal systems -- that is, most places other than luceti. ]

It sounds like it would be commonplace in your world. Such orders would be constrained to the nobility or others of respected standing in my own.
