[One of those rare written responses from the Slayer. Usually, she neglects to reply by writing. Usually, she's a lot happier to just blurt out her answers whether the original message was written, spoken, whatever. But this time? Oh, she's mixing it up a bit. What else is a bed-confined girl to do?]

Snowed in? That happens?

[The words do come slowly. After all, her right side is the injured one.]

[So rare in fact are the Slayer's written responses that Albert may not know it's in fact her responding. That is, if she isn't projecting her image through the journal, too.]

It has not happened yet, no. But we should always be wary when the Malnosso can change the weather on a whim.

[Oh, there's definite projection going on. The journal, propped on her knees in a way Doctor McCoy would doubtless tell her was not conducive to healing, is facing her--looking composed but tinged with a bit of exhaustion.]

What if it happens? Is it enough of a worry to need a contingency plan?

[She's...unsurprisingly less wordy and run-off-at-the-mouth when she writes. Saves effort.]

Mass village contingency plans have crossed my mind, and I have mentioned warnings a few times, but I have left the matter to individuals' discretion.

[Sometimes he likes to have some faith in humanity.]

Those who don't normally live within the village, and any new arrivals, would be most at risk.

[She leans forward, flattening the journal for better purchase to write with.]

New Feathers. Of course. And those flimsy little outfits they arrive in can't be a big help. Shame this place doesn't have a bunch of snow plows hidden away somewhere.

Apparently some have had the good fortune to appear with their clothes nearby. But even then, it wouldn't be much in this weather.

I can keep an extra-keen eye out for any hypothermic newbies when I start patrolling again--if you think that might help?

It certainly would help -- when you start patrolling again.

I'm sure the Blue Rogues and other volunteers have some measures in place. Everyone just needs to be attentive in general. [Especially with such distractions as residents causing bodily harm to others.]

[Eager to be of service, the next message is scribbled back rather quickly.] Extra eyes can't hurt. I'll be sure the pass the message along. Last thing we need is to find New Feather popsicles come spring.

My thanks, Buffy. Do be sure to take measures for yourself as well. For example, taking inventory of wares in your house. [Because he and Raine can be ridiculously orderly, they had taken inventory of their house items back in November and been trying to maintain those habits.]

Like, stocking up? Extra candles and water and stuff? That's a fab idea.

[Turns out even a slightly broken Slayer can still find a mission she can manage.]

I thought you might approve. [Slightly broken, but never out!]

[That kind of felt like getting a big old gold star sticker. Which is a good thing.]

At least if something does happen, the journals will be a help. The bonus to here having no electricity? Can't have power-outages.

Power outages. How would someone remedy those in your world?

Board games and flashlights. [A pause.] The power goes in storms--it can take a while to come back on. Hours, maybe even days if it's really bad.

Would someone be in charge of bringing the power back? [He's thinking about the amusement park, since that's the only extended example of modern technology he's had.]
