... I know of one casualty, but I don't know if it should be immediately broadcast considering that he has a younger sister. Unless the others see fit to do so before me, I suppose. There was... nothing I could do.

No. It was an ... ordinary death, I suppose. Their intent seemed to be to kill us, not take us alive. Though I can't account for how others may have fared.
That's the reason for the status reports, Professor.
The matter of death may be important, if their intent was to kill us all. If they can permanently kill us, deaths should be scrutinized to a certain point if the Malnosso cannot revive them. We don't have much else to go by.

... I know.
They were using different methods of attacking. Sometimes magic, sometimes physical, though we could not see any of their weapons. I think... they're all gone. Their dead, and ours.

It couldn't hurt, in any case.
And now a reprieve approaches. I suppose this is what happens when I don't get my plans for the new feathers settled in time. Hopefully people will be on alert enough and have enough sense to greet them properly.

It's best to rest while we can. I fear things will grow worse once we start asking questions.

... Mm. That's true enough. And there will be more than enough questions.

Indeed.

I doubt the answers will be very satisfactory.

They rarely are. We are on rails, waiting for another to open the next gate for us to advance.
