[Albert has taken to sitting hunched over his desk, his journal to one side and a stack of, well, notebooks on the other side.]

[A little while later, Raine's soft footsteps can be heard coming down the hallway, neatly balancing the tray with the water pitcher and empty glass in her hands. She knocks at Albert's door to alert him to her presence, then eases it open, careful not to jostle the tray.]

[Albert looks up at the sound of the door opening, brow arched at the fact that Raine had entered. It wasn't as if he was so immersed in his work that he can't stand and get the door.]

[After the moment has passed, he shuts his journal and slides it to the other side of the desk, freeing up some room.]

[Raine steps fully inside the room, bringing the tray to the newly cleared spot on the table. Once that's secure she lifts the pitcher and takes the glass with her other hand, pouring it for him.]

It's been a while since you've last addressed the village.

I haven't had any reason to do so. [It's not much of a reason, but he's rarely felt the need for excuses with Raine.]
