And since I officially passed the property agent the cheque for the balance of the $5000 deposit and signed page 8 of the option to purchase, I think we can proudly say we are well on my way to owning our own place!

Haha omi its more like a few months? Estimated we will only get the keys to it around mid march or april next year lol.

Well firstly the first hdb appt is likely to be earliest mid-nov and then it's another 6-8 weeks to the 2nd hdb appt. Secondly we prob will delay the first appt by a bit so that the seller can settle their own house that they are buying, and thirdly, they asked for two months extension after second HDb appt.

How did you get your place in only 7 weeks?? Even in the best of circumstances with the hdb appts that's near impossible!

lol I figured!

to be fair, I think we really lucked out? there was a cancellation when I was trying to fix the first appointment. so in a sea of greys, there was one solitary green day -- it was a slot for 8.30am. my mom moaned about the timing, but the next open slot was like a month later, so we dragged everyone up early. lol

then the second appointment was just 6 weeks after. this you could actually arrange with the officer during the first appointment, and if all your paperwork is in order, they usually do oblige. ^__^
