It's a year late but... Photos from London Trip 2011 (Part 1)
Seeing fellow Singaporean johanirae's photos of her London trip posted up on her LJ has guilt-tripped me into putting mine up, almost a year late. Haha. Generally I put up my travel photos on Facebook (even that has been lacking recently) and forget to blog about them later. Bad Lili.
But, because I'm super lazy, I'm only going to blog some of the photos, even though I went wandering around a lot in the beginning. :P
To start off, the little felt Sherlock pins I made for the people I was meeting in London. badapplebettie, I have your John jumper + a surprise. Just need to figure out how to send it to you...
Random wandering down from King's Cross to Southbank on foot early on a weekend. Nobody around. super peaceful.
This might have been Russell Square, or not. I did go to Russell Square though. ^_^
Wandering down Queens Walk all the way from National Theatre to Millenium Bridge and the Globe Theatre, and then back again on the Tate to Tate ferry.
The moment I was dreaming about for five months or so: Finally watching my first Frankenstein performance, live. It was Benedict as the creature too. Was totally blown away. I love love love the Olivier, no other theatre compares for me now.
Fish and Chips dinner with my brother, who is studying in LSE right now. Treated him to his meal and a drink too, what else do elder sisters do? :P
London by Night! It's an open-top bus ride at night. I love Leicester Square, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, and National Theatre at night!
The incomparable British Museum. I wished I had more time there.
Met up with Nana!! I haven't seen her in ages. She's not changed one bit. :)
My tiny but comfy little attic-like room at Jesmond Dene Hotel near King's Cross. Love the view!
Taking the train out of London for a day trip to...
Cambridge! Loved it, loved the London Walks tour guide too!
The charms of Hampstead Heath... I'm going back again, this time with a proper map. I'm not even sure I got to Parliament Hill!
To round it off, my first taste of Banoffee Pie at Konditor and Cook with my ex-schoolmate~
