Seaweed is the closest thing to vegetables I've consumed in the last few days. We've been eating as a family, (read my family, my grandparents, my mother's three siblings and their families.) Someone makes a main dish, and then everyone is told to bring a side dish, and someone else to bring a salad. In my family this translates as: my father planking salmon, auntie nat making seafood salad, uncle dan bringing what is basically chinese bbq pork (char sui), my grandmother making kalua pig, my mom bringing in crispy gao gee and lemon chicken, and auntie kathy making lumpia. And then there is rice and furikake, the closest thing I've had to veggies in a while.
But it all tastes so good.
In other news, the star-bulletin has a sudoku puzzle that instead of being 1-9 is 0-9 and A-F. I am in heaven. It is making my brain hurt.
My grandma has a cooler filled with pictures from when she was little through when my mother graduated from college. There is one roll titled "Pammy's first year at Carleton." There are all kinds of pictures from when my aunts and uncles were all little, so we've been laughing pretty much straight since last night when we opened the cooler.
Well, that is all.
