Twenty-Second Ink Drop [Action]

Apr 08, 2010 16:21

[What a wonderful day to be dumped back from her mallynapping. Truly a glorious day indeed. Right in the middle of a blasted thunderstorm. It's better than a blizzard, but it's still not the most awesome of circumstances to be in. And definitely not one Miyabi wanted to be in, to be honest.

She was drenched, huddled up on someone's windowsill ( Read more... )

C-Cold...!

[Short, sweet, and to the point. The poncle firl flutters her wings, more a reflex than anything else, to dry them, and doesn't look up immediately. In fact, she just curls up more, shivering. It doesn't seem to have clicked that there was a voice that just asked her that question, and definitely not that the voice was that of a friend.]

Lilynette? Is that you? I...I don't know. A windowsill.

[Damn it, Miyabi, do you know how many windowsills there are in Luceti?]

Yeah, it's me. Keep talking to me. Just... about anything. How long have you been painting?

[Well it's not like she can actually travel around the whole village, you know. And the Malnosso kinda suck about putting people back after they take them. The question, though, makes the painter smile. Good question, she could easily ramble about this.]

Since...Since I could hold a brush. Heh~ I'd always make such a mess, b-but I'd be so happy. [She closes her eyes and sighs out, coughing once. Miyabi's tone becomes wistful and affectionate then.] And though I'd have...ink and paint a-all over my hands...and my body, and the 'p-paintings' were just splashes of color and scribbles...

I-I remember two people smiling, and patting my head. "Omedetou gozaimasu" they would say, each time. ...Congratulations. I-I don't remember much about them...my mother and father. I don't even know ther faces anymore. I love painting, though. I'm not good, but...I really love it.

[Sorry, Miyabi, but Lily won't come looking. She won't admit it, but this thunder's pretty daunting for a kid who's never actually seen it. But she figures that if she keeps her talking, someone'll find her soon enough.]

But it must have been fun, getting paint all over yourself, all over everything. Who cares what they ended up looking like, you were enjoying it.

If it makes you feel better, there's a lot of things I don't remember. My parents, anything about them, are one of them.

Yeah, you're not good, you're awesome. I can tell you love it.

[She wouldn't want her to anyway, to be perfectly honest. This storm is really bad, and Miyabi's too selfless to have her friends be out in it for her sake. Luckily, though, her friends are also much too stubborn kindhearted to leave her out in the cold.]

Heh...yeah. It was s-so much fun. Even now...i-it's fun to just get messy - paint with...your hands. [A pause, as a loud crash of lightning flashes over heard, big and booming.] I remember when I got my sword. ...Sumomo. That was her name, she said. I-I...I need to find her. I hope someone...picked her up.

...Kazoku. Family...it's here, too. If you can see it that way. [She waivers on consciousness, but thankfully a canine whine snaps her to attention. She's a bit delirious from her fever, so Miyabi will just smile and sigh.]

Mother Amaterasu found me. Sorry...for worrying you.

You'll have to teach me, sometime. Maybe I'll enjoy it as much as you do. Sumomo... I'm sure someone found her. You don't have to worry about that. [That family comment won't get a response, but it'll make her think.]

Don't apologize, Miyabi. You're my friend. Of course I'd be worried about you. I hope you'll feel better soon.

Y-Yes...of course. [Her voice gets quieter and quieter as her fever gets worse, and exhaustion sets in, but she forces herself to talk. It'd be rude if she didn't answer.] A-Aa, I-I hope...she's safe.

[Because she was rescued by Ammy, and safely concealed inside her warm, soft fur, Miyabi's finally going to lapse out of consciousness. She's just too tired to talk anymore, though she does give a final, quiet word of thanks before finally falling into a deep slumber.]

Thank you, Lilynette...
