[What does he even say to her return? He should've been there. Out in the battlefields... Instead he was stuck at an amusement park (and nearly drowning but still). This is among a very long list of reasons to why he'll never forgive the Malnosso.
Don't worry Miya he'll think of more than just your name to say eventually.]
[Luffy? Miyabi glances at her journal, then has to look away. Not because she didn't want Luffy to see her tear-stained face. No, it was because the face staring back at her was colorless. It wasn't how she remembered such a vibrant person. It wasn't how it was supposed to be. Instead, she looks at her hands holding the journal - ghostly white and gray.
It takes her a long time to reply, to even find anything noteworthy to say.]
H-Hello.
[And, after that, she feels the tears start up again, dripping onto the page in full force. Gods, she's so sorry.]

[For a second, Miyabi's on the verge of just agreeing. Saying "okay", and letting Luffy come find her, but then something in the back of her mind clicks, and her eyes widen. She'd have to see him. She'd have to see him like this, like some kind of gray and lifeless ghost, and--!
She rounds on the journal, and though her voice is kind of rough from crying. she manages one loud and sharp shout.]
[Much like with Luffy, Miyabi doesn't look at the journal, afraid of what she'll see of her friend if she does, and instead glances around her. ...This isn't good. She really can't even tell where she is. Not when everything tree, every rock, every damn leaf looked exactly the same.]
...The forest. [She stands up this time, wanders in a random direction, and finds her way blocked after a few steps.] Right next to the barrier. ...Here.
[Miyabi closes her eyes, then holds the journal out before her, so the camera can pick up the view. Maybe Luke could get something from it.]
[Oh, gods. Even if she did tell him where she was, it would take Luke days to get to her. Not to mention she really, really doesn't want to see anyone.. Needless to say, Miyabi pushes her journal away somewhat, mumbling into it in a dull and lifeless voice. She's just...so numb. She wants very badly to just curl up and cry, and part of her just wants to have someone there to cry onto.
Damn it...why did Ammy have to be gone?! Why now?!]
...No, Luke. You'll never make it here. It's...it's fine. I can walk. I'm not hurt at all, really. I'll...I-I'll be fine.
[Nami's been listening out for you, poncle. She listens-- to your tears, to the news you came back to.
She says nothing. This image of you is a better one than the one she's been carrying these past weeks, and nothing she could say would make things better. Or change the fact that she let you die.
[But she's still staring blankly at her journal hours later when she sees the entry flagged for her attention, and Nami watches as the words are scrawled onto the page and then crossed out. The last half-finished line...
...
Nami snatches up her own pen, eyes blurring with tears as the sakura blossom appears, and scrawls roughly back.]
[Well. That certainly stopped her heart. Miyabi had almost hoped not to hear from Nami. She couldn't...Miyabi didn't feel strong enough to face her. It's good that this is written, though her tears are falling onto the pages of her journal harder and faster that ever, and her sobs are no longer quiet at all.
She wants to apologize for apologizing, but that's just stupid. Why can't she apologize?! It was easy! She failed and Nami...Nami was put in danger! Miyabi wasn't strong enough to pull her weight and because of that she died! Why can't she apologize?! It's so easy just to say sorry! It's so easy...]
Okay.
[One word, blotted and smudged by the wetness on the page, but that's it. That's all Miyabi can think of other than "sorry".]
[...Nami is torn. She wonders if she should leave it there and back off, but the fact Miya tried to say she was all right and apologise and that she's avoiding everyone else--
...it's a few minutes before she replies, and this time she speaks, voice rough.]
[And with an equal, and very uncharacteristic calm, Miyabi replies.]
Thank you.
[It's not that she doesn't appreciate the welcome, she really does, but she's clearly not taking her penalty well. Hell, her death in general she is not taking well at all. She failed, and now she can't even face up to it, or the people who only want to wish her well, and make sure she's okay.]
No. [That word, definitely, is said with a bite, and she doesn't mean it, which is why the girl curls up and her voice softens.] I'm fine...I don't have to see anyone.

[San didn't even know about Miyabi's death. So imagine what it's like to find a weeping little butterfly there on the ground. She crouches next to her with concern that most humans would never get]
[actions]chiisaichouSeptember 13 2011, 04:40:48 UTC
[Though Miyabi is her human size (a petite 4'10"), she still has to look up when San crouches down to her height. She kind of gasps at the suddenness of a person next to her, but it's only a minute. What really takes her breath her away is seeing--no, not seeing San. Not the way Miyabi remembers.
Black hair, black eyes, white-gray skin... Miyabi bites her lip then squeezes her eyes shut as she turns away. Her quiet sobs start up again, but this time they're louder than before. The journal was one thing, but to see a friend in person, without the vibrancy of color...it's terrible. This is terrible. She hates this.]

[Trying to speak only ends in failure. Her voice is drowned out by sobs and sniffles, and a shaky voice. Instead, the girl just shakes her head back and forth. No, she's unharmed. Completely unharmed, but those bastards took away something important from her, and left a large enough scar.
Miyabi curls up, pulling her legs to her chest, and hides her face in her knees. She doesn't want San to see her like this. She doesn't want to see San like this.]
