[Backdated to the 14th]

[Everyone's been talking about this Valentines Day thing for quite some time, and Miyabi remembered how much fun - and chocolate - she had around that time before. Unfortunately, trying her hand at making chocolates ended in pure disaster, and the smokey, charred chaos that was her pots and pans. Thankfully, she restored ( Read more... )

[Drawing things on a tree? Tsuzuki is intrigued enough to come up to have a look.]

Hey. What are you doing?

[Well, it's a little different than just painting. She'd draw a circle of ink with the brush on her sword, which hovered, glowed, then magically made the flowers bloom. Miyabi blinked, and turned once she heard an unfamiliar voice.]

Hm? Oh, I'm making the flowers on the tree bloom.

You can do that just by drawing circles?

[He rests his hands on his knees, watching more intently.]

Eh...not exactly. My sword uses the power of the Celestial Brush, a divine instrument from my homeland. Using the different powers of the thirteen brush gods, I can use different brush skills. The ability to make plants bloom is one of them.

[She demonstrates again, this time taping her sword to the ground, so the calligraphy brush on the end of the hilt makes a single black dot, which glows green then sprouts into a small, white flower.]

I didn't know there were brush gods.

[Tsuzuki's eyes practically light up.]

That's really amazing. - Oh, I'm Tsuzuki, by the way.

Well, back in my world, there are! Thirteen of them - one to represent the animals of the zodiac, including the cat. They were actually once part of one sole being - the sun goddess, Amaterasu. When she died, her powers split, and formed the brush gods I know of today.

[She beams, and bows politely.] It's a pleasure to meet you, Tsuzuki. I'm Miyabi - or Miya for short.

[He bows as well, since he realizes they're both Japanese.] It's an honor to meet you, Miyabi.

Can I watch you work for a little while?

If you want to, I don't mind.

[She smiles politely again and begins working once more. It was a little daunting, making the entire tree bloom, especially with little circles. Miyabi didn't have the strength with the power caps to do it in one large, clean brushstroke - even with Faeren's help.

Once finished, she breathes out tiredly, looking a little exhausted but happy that the tree could be a nice spot for people to come to now.]

I love it. How long have you been able to do magic like this?

[Tsuzuki touches the trunk of the tree, as if he can feel the magic in there. He smiles at her, offering her a hand in case she's tired.]

[She may just need to take that hand, nodding her head in thanks. The tree's trunk was large and wide, so Miyabi leaned her back against it, smiling. This was nice, talking about the things she loved, and Tsuzuki seemed like a kind person as well.]

Well, I've been painting ever since I could hold a brush, and even before. [Finger painting totally counts.] But I didn't learn about the Brush Gods and their start learning their skills until I was a bit older. I've known them for quite some time now, but not all of them. They're all very hard to master, actually...I only know a handful.
