I still don’t bother to ask his number. I really want to message him something, or just say hi to him through message, but I know I can’t do it. I already have many words to be written in the message, but I don’t want him to think that I’m weird. It has been 5 days since the party, and we just sometimes greet each other at school. It’s a problem for me, since I want to get closer to him, not just in that state. I want a progress, but I’m too afraid to step forward. The only thing that waits for me is just that promise, to go to the aquarium together this Sunday.
I really want to discuss it with others, but today they seem to have their own matters. Chii has been clinging into Yuto since this morning. They don’t gather with Ryuu and me as usual. I often see Yuto dozing off since this morning. He just walking here and there with blank expression, and lets Chii clings into him as he please. And Ryuu seems to be very nervous. He acts weird. He even went back to the apartment this morning and went here again, because he realized that he wore sandals to school. As I wonder if there’s something between Chii and him, I see something suspicious. Chii and Ryuu often took a glance at each other, but as soon as their eyes met, they averted each other’s eyes. And I can see the blush on their cheeks.
Yeah. Something must be happened.
“Yuto will confess to Yamada-kun today.” Ryuu’s answer makes my jaw drops. I asked Ryuu in the canteen, and he fulfills my curiosity.
“Are you serious? They even just met once!” Yeah, in that party, suddenly he appeared with Yamada, who immediately dragged Daiki away from me while we were dancing. And Yuto said he danced with Yamada, with a redden face. As long as I know, it’s their first meeting. And their last, because they didn’t greet each other at school.
“He said it last night when I came to his room. He said that he had thought about it.” Ryuu nods. We live in the same apartment, but different floor. And some days ago, he finally told us that he loves Yamada. As I expected.
“Wow. I have never thought that he’ll move that fast. That’s the reason for his weird act ne.” Ryuu just nods again. “And is it related with you and Chii? Both of you are the same weird as him.”
Looks like my question stabs perfectly on Ryuu. He choked hard, and his face immediately turning red. I know I am right, again.
“N-no. No-nothing.” He stutters. He’s surely not someone who’s smart for lying things.
“Something has happened too, right? Between you and Chii.” I continue. “Or maybe you’ll confess to Chii too?”
And I was right, again. What a mind reader I am.
Ryuu looked hesitate to give me answer, but he then he gives up.
“Yuto has told Chii that I love him, yesterday.”
“Yuto? How can?”
“I asked him to be my substitute to confess to Chii. And he said, that Chii loves me too. So…”
“Wait! You asked Yuto to be your substitute?” My eyes widen perfectly. This is the first time I hear a person uses his friend to confess to the person he loves. How interesting!
“I’m… to shy to face Chii. That’s why… But then Chii said he wants to hear it from myself. So… today…” Ryuu looked so innocent when he is nervous like this. His whole face is burning. So today he will confess to Chii too?
“Finally! You’ve grown up, kiddie!” I ruffle his hair while laughing.
Wait! Is it the time for laughing? If Yuto will confess to Yamada today, and Ryuu will too, so it means I’m the one who left behind. This isn’t good for me. I have to confess to Daiki too, soon. Everyone has made their progress, and I don’t want to be left.
Now, my questions are… Why must Daiki Arioka? Am I really falling in love with him?

I yawn again for the fifth time.
Yesterday Chii dragged Ryuu came to my room and invaded me the whole day just to tell me that he’s finally official with Ryuu. Ryuu, as usual, didn’t talk much, but I could see happiness on his eyes. And he also told me about Yamada has accepted Yuto’s love too. And yesterday they went on their first date, that was why Yuto had disappeared since the morning.
And today, is my turn. Last night I messed my room, just to see what I must wear today. And as I realized, my room has become like a wreck ship. It made me cleaned up my room again, just to realize that the clothes that I had chosen suddenly disappear. I had to open the cupboard again, and messed up my room again and again.
And now I’m so sleepy.
“Takaki-kun!” Suddenly a voice got my consciousness back. I turn, and getting Kuraki with another girl walk toward me. I just smile to them. “After I confirmed again, it’s just Yuka-chan who can go along with us today.” She explains. And I, just nods as usual. I don’t care how many friends she will bring, because the only one that I wait for is that chubby boy. “Where’s your friend then?”
“Um… there?” I can notice Daiki’s figure just by a glance. He is walking excitedly to our direction. As I turn my head to him, he smiles and waves his hand.
“Hi, Daiki-kun!” Kuraki greets him as he approached us. “So Takaki-kun invited you ne.”
He nods. “Yeah. Do you mind me being here?”
Kuraki laughs. “Of course no, Daiki-kun.”
“Yeah, let’s have fun together.” The girl named… uhm, Yuka, suddenly adds. Looks like she knows Daiki too. Daiki is nods like a kid with excitement.
“Now shall we enter there?” I ask. The others are nodding.
I’m sure I’ll have fun with Daiki today.
Or it’s just my imagination.
“Takaki-kun, please take my pic here.” Kuraki pulls my sleeve while pointing at a fish tank. “Gomen ne, Yuka-chan can’t use my camera. That’s why I ask for your help.” I smile lazily and take the camera from her hand.
I don’t know what she has planned, but I feel tricked, somehow. From the beginning, suddenly she asked me to take the pic of her. I supposed to have my time with Daiki, but then Yuka dragged him to walk first. And I stuck with Kuraki instead.
“Now let’s take a pic together!” She pulls me closer to her, and asks for another guest’s help to take our picture. I have no choice but smile lazily again and let her arms cling on my arm. And even after saying arigatou that people, she doesn’t bother to release my arm. “Let’s go to the next, Takaki-kun!” She exclaims happily. Am I going to trapped with her like this today?
“Uhm, Kuraki.” She turns her head with questioning look. “Where are Daiki and Yuka-san?”
She smiles and shrugs her shoulders. “I don’t know too. Maybe they have their fun time together, that they unconsciously left us.”
Is it true? That Daiki has his own fun time without me?
“So let’s have our time together too, Takaki-kun.” She smiles. Our? I have no fun.
“Gomen, but let me search for Daiki.” I tell her. She shakes her head.
“I can’t let you do so, Takaki-kun. Actually they leave us for a reason.”
“What?”
“So that I can have my time just with you, Takaki-kun. I like you so much.” She says while blush starts creeping on her cheeks. “Yuka-chan has told Daiki-kun, and they are so kind for understanding it. And I bet now they have fun together.”
Does Daiki agree with her plan? Is he really now has fun with Yuka? Without me? Just two of them? I have to check it myself.
“Gomennasai, Kuraki. I have to search for Daiki.”
“Are you going to throw away their kindness, Takaki-kun?”
“The problem is I can’t see you more than friend, Kuraki. You’re a good girl, but still, I consider you as my friend. Gomennasai.” I bow to her, and run away from him. I want to check what Daiki is doing now. Is he still being with Yuka? I have to check some spots that I guess are his favorite spots.
First, the arapaima spot. We’ve passed that spot some minutes ago.
Second, the penguin spot. I walk fast to the penguin corner, and he isn’t there.
Third, the whale-shark tank. Maybe it’s hard to find him, because many people are seeing this tank right now. But what a luck that I spot him standing with a blank expression. Alone. Not with Yuka. I call him.
“Hey!” He recognizes my voice and turns his head. But what makes me shock, as soon as he saw me, he immediately runs away.
My eyes widen and my mouth opened wide too. Why did he run from me? Have I done any mistake? And what take my concern most is his sad expression. I don’t like to see that kind of expression plastered on his face. I want to see his smile, not his sad face.
