Summary : Finally, Chinen meets Kurida.

Chinen can just watch Yamada’s back. He wants to stop Yamada, pulls him closer to him and says so that he won’t meet that Kurida again, but he knows he can’t do that. Yamada isn’t his boyfriend. He’s free to choose the people he’s gonna meet, and he’s free to choose what action he’ll do.
Chinen leans in the wall. He sighs. What should he do to get Yamada back? Seemed that Yamada still has feeling through Kurida.
Chinen is busy with his mind about it for a moment until he realizes that he must go back to the café. He lets his thought vanished as he walks into the café. Inside, he finds that Tsuyoshi is standing near the cashier table.
“Finally you come back.” He says. Chinen frowns.
“Wasn’t Yamada come back first?”
“Yeah, but he went again with his girlfriend.” Tsuyoshi shrugs his shoulders.
His girlfriend? Chinen feels a jolt comes into his heart.
“Girlfriend?” Chinen asks.
“Isn’t she his girlfriend? They always have good time here together. And I think he’s too close with her if they’re just a normal friend. But it’s just my thought.” Tsuyoshi shrugs again.
“Where did they go?” Chinen asks again.
“I don’t know. As soon as Yamada came back, she hugged him and whispered something to him. I couldn’t hear anything, but then Yamada said sorry to me because he had to leave again.”
Chinen’ s heart is torn once again. But he has no time for crying because a customer enters the café. He fakes a smile and serves the customer.

“You look so different ne.” Tsuyoshi says as Chinen comes out from the dressing room the next day. Yesterday, Chinen called the owner, asking for a new waiter uniform. Since the owner is a busy person and he can rarely visit his café, he asked Tsuyoshi to lend his old uniform to Chinen first. He has to wear a new uniform since his height increases fast, and his uniform was no more fitted on his body.
Chinen smiles. “Yeah… I’m a boy from the beginning.”
Tsuyoshi laughs.
“Actually both of the uniforms suit you well. The maid uniform and the waiter uniform.” Chinen laughs with him.
“Thanks.” He says. “By the way, where is Yamada? It’s already 6 pm but he hasn’t appeared yet?” Chinen asks curiously. Yamada supposed to be in the café at 5pm, but today he hasn’t showed up yet.
“The owner calls him on his place today. So maybe he’s late.” Tsuyoshi answers. Chinen nods. He really wants to talk to Yamada, so that they can make up soon. He also wants to ask about Yamada’s relationship with Kurida. Are they really a couple or what?
If they are really a couple, does Yamada admit her as his toy too? Or he’s totally fallen to Kurida because she’s his hard-to-forget first love?
The more Chinen thinks about it the more confusing questions come on his mind about Yamada. He’s kinda miss the flirty Yamada who used to tease him almost everyday. But if he remembers that time, all he gets in his heart is just pain. Yamada is no longer with him like he was used to.
About an hour later, Yamada finally comes to the café, along with Kurida. Chinen can only watch as both of them giggle while entering the café, as if they have their own world. Kurida takes a seat on the corner, while Yamada enters the dressing room to change his uniform.
Chinen glances at his back with a sad look. Yamada even doesn’t feel his presence there. He just walks pass Chinen without saying anything. Does only him who feels these fast heartbeats?
After that, Chinen can’t talk at all with Yamada because the café is on its busy hour. Many customers come on this time. They’re busy with their customers. But one thing that Chinen knows, Kurida is still there although an hour has passed. She looks so busy with her own things. That happens until the time the café should be closed. Kurida is still on the café, but now she has sat near the cashier table, talking with Yamada who’s still calculating the income today.
“I’ve finished. I’ll go first. Ja ne!” Tsuyoshi comes out from the dressing room, carrying his bag, and then walks out of the café. Yamada just waves his hand, and then talks with Kurida again.
“Chinen, you can change your clothes first. I still have to finish this.” Yamada says to Chinen who’s standing near the dressing room. Chinen nods and enters the dressing room.
While changing his clothes, he thinks about what Yamada and Kurida are talking about. Looks like they really enjoy their time together. Another pain comes to his heart. Is it jealousy?
As soon as Chinen comes from the dressing room, he can hear their conversation. He decides to hide behind the wall first, to eavesdrop them.
“You’re right. Last night was the best night ever on my life.” Chinen can hear Kurida’s voice. “And it’s all thanks to you.” Now he can hear Yamada’s laugh.
“Hahaha…. Iie…”
“But about the necklace… How can you know that I love monkey so much? The monkey-formed pendant is so cute.”
Necklace? Chinen feels curious.
“Of course I know, baka.” Yamada laughs again.
“But again, shouldn’t a proposal need a ring instead? Why did you choose necklace?” Kurida asks.
It’s a hard jab for Chinen’s heart. He didn’t mishear it right? A necklace for proposal? And Yamada is the one who gave her? She must be kidding…
“Haha. Don’t protest. It’s hard to choose the necklace for you da yo. The ring is used for the marriage ceremony later. It’s just like an engagement, darou? But don’t worry. The ring has prepared too.”
Chinen tries not to cry. He clenches his fists, and closes his eyes tight. He bites his lips, and wipes the tears that have formed in the corner of his eyes. He can’t hear more of this. He has to go before he hears more about their relationship. Yamada is being serious with Kurida, and he’s proposed her already in engagement. He decides to stop the eavesdropping, and comes out.
Yamada stands up as soon as he sees Chinen comes.
“Wait for me ne.” He says to Kurida. Kurida smiles and nods to him. Then Yamada enters the dressing room and closes the door.
Chinen pretends not to hear anything. He walks pass Kurida, and ignores her.
“You’re the boy in the dance competition, right?” Suddenly Kurida speaks.
Chinen stops and turns his head to Kurida. He points his nose with questioning look.
“Yes. You. We’ve met once deshou?”
“Yes.” Chinen nods politely.
“I hadn’t seen you before. Do you work on this café so that you become closer to Ryosuke?” This question looks like an arrow that stacks straightly on his heart.
“That’s… that’s wrong!” Chinen lies. Kurida still looks at him intently.
“You have had a boyfriend deshou? If I’m not wrong, the first time we met, you were with your boyfriend.” Kurida asks again.
“Boyfriend? He’s…”
“You’ve had your own boyfriend. Please stay away from Ryosuke.” She says seriously, stares at Chinen’s eyes.
Chinen can’t hold it anymore. He clenches his fists again and looks down.
“Wakatta.” Chinen says, before walks out of the café. He can’t even look at Kurida anymore. As soon as he makes sure Kurida can’t see him, he runs with tears flowing from his eyes.
He knows, now Yamada belongs to Kurida, and he has no right to interrupt them.
Tsuzuku....
