Have I ruined all you've given me?
I know I've been selfish, I know I've been foolish.
Inoo glared at the boy across the empty room. They had been arguing the whole day. He glowered at the back of Keito’s head, hoping that the stare would drill holes in the other’s head. He sighed and walked to Keito seated at the table reading a school textbook.
“Oi. Keito.”
Keito kept his head down, aware of the oncoming argument. “What is it.”
“Look at me when I talk to you,”
Keito sighed heavily and looked up.
“What?”
Inoo crossed his arms with a frown on his face.
“Weren’t you supposed to pick me up earlier?”
Keito rolled his eyes and returned to his textbook. “I told you. We had to talk about our group project,”
“You didn’t tell me anything,”
“I did. I called you, but you were busy,” Keito snapped.
“You did not! I can’t believe your friends are more important to you than I am!”
Keito couldn’t take it anymore. He stood up suddenly, making the chair topple over.
“You think I’m lying?! You think I don’t put you first?! I always do! But apparently, you’re too dense to even realize that you’re always talking about yourself!”
Inoo winced at the loudness of Keito’s voice. Keito stood there, fuming.
“Screw this. I’ve had enough,”
He quickly took his things and left Inoo.

But look through that and you will see,
I can do better.
“…you are dismissed.”
As their teacher left the room, Keito gathered his books, ignoring the mumbled goodbyes from his classmates. He needed to be alone. He needed to think.
He walked briskly in the hallway, hoping to catch an early ride home. He didn’t want to go to practice. He didn’t want to be distracted by work. Or fans.
He slipped on his shoes and walked through the school yard, wary of other people greeting him. Slipping away unnoticed is of utmost priority.
He was nearing the gate now. And there was the bus in plain view, waiting for him.
So far, so good, he thought to himself. No random female school mate coming up to him, no sensei to talk to him about extra credit… No one can stop him from going home and crying in his room. Not even-
“-Inoo-kun?”
Inoo stood up from the cemented sidewalk. “Hi Keito,”
Keito stared at him, puzzled.
“Uhm… I uh… wanted to talk to you,” muttered Inoo.
Keito glanced at the leaving bus, utterly annoyed.
“What more do you need from me, Inoo?”
“I...uh… I-I’m s-,”
“Sorry’s not gonna cut it, Inoo,”
Keito turned away.

I took for granted what you do.
But I'll do better, I know
Baby, I can do better.
”I’ll make it up to you Keito, I promise,”
Keito stood like a sentinel, his phone against his ear.
“Let’s go out tomorrow night,”
Silence.
“8 PM at the usual place. I’ll wait for you, ne?”
Keito sighed heavily, wondering how he could even forgive Inoo. With a heavy heart, he ended the call.
•Four•
And don't you see,
I'm not the only one for you
But you're the only one for me.
Inoo waited patiently for him, as he sat on a bench in front of their favorite restaurant. He shivered in his coat as he checked his watch.
9:38 PM.
He ignored the biting cold and waited, watching his breath mist and form in the air. He looked up at the night sky.
It was snowing.
“Been waiting long?”
Inoo turned to the newcomer beside him. Keito sat on the far end of the bench. He wasn’t even looking at Inoo when he popped the question.
Keito twiddled his thumbs nervously, unsure if he should continue.
Inoo ignored the indifference and flashed a huge smile.
Finally, Keito spoke.
“I-We-I think… I think we should give it another shot,”
Inoo smiled even wider.
“Shall we take a walk, then?”
•Five•
If you leave me tonight, I'll wake up alone,
Don’t tell me I will make it on my own,
Don’t leave me tonight,
This heart of stone will sing till it dies
If you leave me tonight.
Despite the freezing cold, Inoo felt warm inside. The heat came from the hand that held his with their fingers intertwined. It felt good to be loved again.
They walked in silence, enjoying each other’s company. The moon couldn’t have been brighter tonight, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Inoo led Keito away from the busy city and its flashing lights and took him to a secluded, tranquil garden near a brook. Carefully pruned rosebushes lined the pathway to a majestic hedge labyrinth that was powdered lightly with snow. Keito sucked in a breath at its astounding beauty.
Inoo gently tugged Keito’s hand and led him into the maze. With only the moonlight and his sense of familiarity to the place, Inoo wove through the confusing garden, stopping every now and then to check on Keito.
After much walking, Inoo stopped in his tracks. They had finally reached their destination. Keito stopped as well.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
Keito gaped at the beautiful scenery in the midst of the maze. In front of them stood a small white gazebo, bathed in moonlight. Surrounding it were more roses that creeped up the short stone columns. The serenity of the landscape was quite magnificent; it can’t be put into words.
Inoo smiled and sat inside, and Keito could do nothing but follow.
To other people, the silence would have been eerie. But to them, Inoo felt, it was what made the moment all the more beautiful.
Inoo huddled close to Keito. The walk had tired him out and all he wanted was to rest with the one he loved.
Keito looked down at the person hugging him, realizing that Inoo had fallen asleep.
He sat and stared at the night sky visible in his line of sight.
He waited.
Tears rolled down his cheeks as the realization hit him.
Don’t leave me tonight.
Inoo’s eyelashes fluttered as he woke up to the chilly winter air. He was taken aback at his surroundings, realizing that he wasn’t in his home. He forgot how he had gotten there.
He looked down and noticed another jacket wrapped tightly around him.
He sat up, nearly crumpling the paper that was folded inside the jacket pocket.
He removed it and glanced at the note.
伊野尾 慧 へ
Inoo sat silently, contemplating the note in his hand. He stared at the familiar handwriting and tried to remember what happened that night.
With tears in his eyes, he finally remembered.
Whew. Took a while, but here it is.
If you're wondering what that gazebo looked like,
here ya go. And, obviously, that's Inoo's name in kanji. I think I screwed up with my japanese lol. But in the write a letter segments in SC the way they say To ___ is smth like ____ e. XD
Okay ignore that.
